Allegri: There Should Change
Massimiliano Allegri has admitted that Juventus will not defend their Serie A title after suffering their home defeat on Saturday.
The Bianconeri, who are in the top flight of Italian Serie A for six consecutive years, are currently fourth and five points behind Napoli.
Juve have lost two points at Atalanta before the international break and squandered a first-half goal at Allianz Stadium against Lazio this weekend, as they lost at home for the first time since August 2015.
Allegri told local media: “We have been warned against Torino, Sassuolo and Atalanta. We are less concentrated and have to pay a high price for this.
“From the result of our match with Bergamo and also today’s game, we have lost five points. I realize that to win the Scudetto we have to give the best of every game. ”
“It will be a difficult season, but this is not an excuse. We have lost five points. Now we have an important game on Wednesday against Sporting in the Champions League and we have to win. We have faced a very neat Lazio playing and good in counterattack. ”
“I’m just disappointed. We lost the ball too easily. We are too soft in playing against Lazio. If we lose again, the Scudetto will be far from expectations. ”
Lazio, who currently has second place, still has a proud record with a 100% record on away wins this season. Previously, Lazio had 14 years never beat Juventus in the league.
